Safe Work Procedures are also referred to by other terms including SWMS and WMS.
Principally they have the same function which is to document a process for identifying and controlling health and safety hazards and risks
It is an aid to ensure that workers are trained to carry out specific work in a safe manner. It sets out the work activities into a series of basic steps, identifies hazards and describes control measures.
The Office Safe Work Procedures are a collection of separate documents, covering common tasks and risks associated with working in an office environment
Please note that Safe Work Method Statements or Safe Work Procedures are a major source of documented Work Health and Safety guidance for workers, it is therefore very important that your workers are involved in the development of the document
This to ensure that workers clearly understand the procedures involved and the potential consequences that may result if incorrect actions are taken.
Whilst the core information contained within our documents may be applicable across most situations, they are designed to act as a general guidance only and save you time compared to writing a SWMS or SWP from scratch.
Use our documents to develop your own, site specific documents, ensure to conduct a risk assessment of each task, consult with your workers, ensure that they receive correct training and schedule reviews of your documented procedures regularly.
